When Rip Hunter first assembled the Legends of Tomorrow, he most likely never planned on having to face down a triumvirate of villains like the Legion of Doom. Now they’ve managed to do what most could only dream of, and that’s reshaping the world in their glorious image thanks to the spear of destiny. Unfortunately, it’s anything but glorious for the Legends.

On the March 28th episode of Legends of Tomorrow, titled “Doomworld”, the Legends will be confronted with this much different place, which acts as a personal purgatory for each member of the team. In EW’s spoiler room, Atom actor Brandon Routh said “For the Legends, it’s very different. None of us have our abilities and powers. Ray is a janitor for S.T.A.R. Labs, and the world is being run by insane crazy people. So, yeah, it’s a bit of the worst nightmare.”

Ray has always struggled with his place in the world and strives to leave a real legacy, so being relegated to the sidelines would be its own punishment, but having to clean up after the very people he is fighting against is a whole other type of punishment. EW’s Natalie Abrams hints that there’s more to come, however, saying “Trust me when I tell you, he’s not even the character who has it the worst!”

You can find the official description for the upcoming episode below. Legends of Tomorrow currently holds a 66.74 on ComicBook.com’s composite rankings, but if you haven’t voted yet make sure to submit your score here.

After obtaining the Spear of Destiny, the Legion of Doom rewrites reality, leaving the Legends changed, perhaps forever. Frightfully, the Legends’ and the world’s hopes rest with Rory (Dominic Purcell), but being the “hero” is not easy for him. Meanwhile, there is tension within the Legion of Doom and the reason why the Spear of Destiny needs to be destroyed is revealed.

Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Nick Zano and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also star. Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by Ray Utarnachitt & Sarah Hernandez.

Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl), Marc Guggenheim (Arrow, Eli Stone, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow, The Flash, Eli Stone, Warehouse 13), Phil Klemmer (The Tomorrow People, Chuck), Chris Fedak (Forever, Chuck), and Sarah Schechter (Arrow, The Flash).

Legends of Tomorrow “Doomworld” airs on March 28.
