Since work on the superhero movie began, Sandberg has been sharing lighthearted updates on his Instagram page documenting progress staring with the image of a filing cabinet with one lone Coke Zero can. Twenty-six days in, the progress posts have taken on a life of their own with various action figures and even DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns showing up for the fun.

Read on to check out some of Sandberg’s entertaining Shazam! updates.

He likes candy

Sandberg’s most recent Instagram update shifts from the Coke Zero cans that marked previous updates, but stuck with the character’s distinctive red color theme. Sandberg posted an image Tuesday of a sizeable pile of packets of Maltesers candy with a defiant Shazam! action figure standing triumphantly in the middle.

“Day 26. They found out I like Maltesers,” Sandberg captioned the photo, with fans wanting expressing concerns about how much sugar the director was consuming. One even jokingly asked “is the working title of Shazam ‘diabetes’?”

Casting hints?

With the film reportedly still casting and few details about the film circulating, fans have looked to the ever-expanding series of toys and other elements of the Instagram updates for clues. It’s something that Sandberg, who has previously talked about the comedic, lighthearted tone of the film, enjoys having fun with. For one update, the director’s dog appeared dressed as Shazam!

He has fun with video, too

Sandberg doesn’t just share photos, though. He also gives fans playful looks at what he’s doing by sharing video clips. One video, that was shared by his wife on her Instagram page, showed Sandberg humorously working on “special effects” for the film while a recent post from Sandberg himself shows Shazam! — or at least the action figure version of the hero — take flight.

But there is work to be done

Of course, for as much fun as Sandberg is having, bringing the story of young Billy Batson and his mystically-powered heroic alter ego Shazam! to life isn’t more than hilarious Instagram updates. When Geoff Johns, who wrote the New 52 origin for the character along with Gary Frank, dropped by the DC boss jumped in the shot to remind Sandberg to get back to work.
