Since Alex Danvers has already come out to her mother and her sister, Kara, telling the rest of her close-friends — James Olsen, Winn Schott, J’onn J’onzz, and Mon-El — that’s she’s gay and in a romantic relationship with Detective Maggie Sawyer shouldn’t be as difficult.
In this clip from tonight’s episode, Kara, James, Winn, and J’onn are at the alien dive bar, waiting for Alex to arrive with a date. James and Winn are excited to meet Alex’s “mystery man,” so you can imagine their surprise when Alex arrives and introduces Maggie as her girlfriend. However, J’onn was aware of Alex’s homosexuality since he possesses psychic powers.
