Tim Daly was skiing while vacationing in Sundance last week when he simultaneously broke bones in both legs.
The voice actor currently appears on the CBS Network’s Madam Secretary. His career launched after the successful 90s sitcom Wings, and he’s appeared in series such as the Sopranos and Private Practice, but the actor is probably most revered in geek circles for his lengthy tenure as Superman throughout many animated iterations of the Man of Steel.

The actor tweeted that he broke his right ankle as well as his left knee in the accident. According to Variety, Daly underwent surgery on Wednesday which will reportedly require a six-to-eight week recovery time.
HUMANS!!! Broke my right ankle and left knee skiing. Simultaneously! How’s that for talent? I’m all good.

While Daly plans to fulfill his commitments to Madam Secretary, in which he plays the husband to the title character played by Tรฉa Leoni, producers are apparently figuring out the best method to proceed with filming, whether that be incorporating the injury into the story or adjusting film scheduling to accommodate the actor.
Daly appeared opposite Kevin Conroy‘s Batman in the original animated series before Superman was granted his own, and the actor reprised the role in the Justice League cartoons and beyond.
He even voiced Superman in a few DC animated movies including Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, and, most recently, Justice League: Doom.
