In the opening minutes of ‘Dead or Alive‘, Barry Allen and Wally West thwart a group of criminals called The Electric Gang.
The gang has only had one comic book appearance, in the story ‘The Charge of The Electric Gang!’ in The Flash #242. In the 1976 comic, the trio are composed of living electricity, which they use to paralyze victims they are trying to rob. After several run-ins with the gang, The Flash ultimately outsmarts them by moving so fast that his feet don’t touch the ground.
While it is unclear if The Electric Gang will return to The Flash, or eventually claim the powers they have in the comics, their inclusion in ‘Dead or Alive’ is a nice Easter egg for fans of that issue. In a way, it’s very similar to Arrow‘s inclusion of The Royal Flush Gang in the show’s second season.
The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by DC’s Legends of Tomorrow at 9 p.m.
