The Wonder Woman release date is still almost a month away, but details from the film have slowly started to emerge over the last few weeks. The latest of these, stemming from a post on an actor’s Twitter account, seems to suggest that the movie could be introducing another major group from the history of DC Comics.

Said Taghmaoui has had a role in Wonder Woman for some time. He was revealed to be one of Steve Trevors war pals, and his character’s name was confirmed to be Sameer. However, a new post on his personal Twitter account teased that his character could be one of the Blackhawks.

The famous group of DC pilots, known as the Blackhawks, first appeared in Military Comics #1 in 1941. The crew was an elite group, led by a mysterious man known only as Blackhawk, and they appeared throughout the history of DC. In the recent New 52 run, the Blackhawks were modernized, and given their own standalone series.

The picture posted by Taghmaoui shows an image of his character, next to a photo of Andre, one of the Blackhawk pilots in the comics. There is a stark resemblance between the two mean, and the actor included the caption, “Coming Soon.!”

This makes a pretty solid case for the inclusion of the Blackhawks in the DCEU. With the film taking place in WWI, we could be getting an origin of sorts for the team.

All will be revealed when Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
