Earlier this week, we already got a pretty good Xbox One backward compatible update, with titles like Raiden IV, Red Faction: Armageddon and Gryuss joining the fray. But today, Microsoft added one more to the program – and it looks to be the beginning of what could be a big franchise for it.

The company announced today that Tomb Raider: Underworld is now available through the program. You can either download it through the Xbox Live Marketplace, or play it with a physical disc, if you still have it from your Xbox 360 collection.

Underworld, which was produced by Crystal Dynamics and came out before the 2013 reboot introduced us to a younger Lara, follows a more experienced Tomb Raider as she sets out to defeat enemies and explore for treasure in the most dangerous of places. Many fans enjoyed this particular adventure, and now is their chance to rediscover it – even if Rise of the Tomb Raider already spoiled them enough as it is.

In addition, Underworld's arrival on the program could indicate that we'll see other Lara Croft releases join soon enough, including the comeback title Tomb Raider: Legend, which marks Crystal Dynamics' debut with the franchise; Tomb Raider: Anniversary, which serves as a remake for the game that started the series to begin with; and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, a fast-paced isometric adventure that features Lara and other heroes battling a corrupt god. All three of these games would be fun additions to the program, and continue to add on to Lara's growing legacy.

With that, the program still sits firmly at just under 400 titles available for play on Xbox One, though it's very likely we'll see a few more additions next week that will push it further over the top, so make sure you save room on your hard drive for whatever comes next.

In the meantime, you can check out Underworld now on Xbox One. It's also available for PlayStation 3 and PC, in case you're in an old-school frame of mind and yearn for the older days of Lara Croft. Hey, who doesn't?
