American McGee Is Interested In Making A New Alice Game

American McGee is a developer that's become known for its breathtakingly good (and twisted) Alice In Wonderland games, particularly Alice: Madness Returns, which released a few years ago for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

But we haven't seen much from the team since, which left us wondering if Alice was indeed gone for good. But there's good news on that front – she isn't.

It turns out the team has turned in a new proposal to Electronic Arts (the publishers of Madness Returns) on a possible third entry in the Alice series, and is asking for the help of fans in terms of getting momentum going on the campaign. It's not crowdfunding by any means, though you can donate via Paypal if you wish.

The team noted on the campaign page, "Fresh off the success of Out of the Woods on Kickstarter American McGee will start work on a proposal for the next chapter in Alice's adventures, tentatively titled Alice: Asylum. This proposal will include artwork, design outline, and financial/business model. When this proposal is finished (and assuming all the numbers and constraints make sense) it'll be sent to EA. There's no word yet on EA's interest in the game, as Madness Returns didn't exactly sell like gangbusters. However, considering the company's attraction to great franchises, Alice seems like a perfect fit for the company. Fans can certainly sound off however they see fit, in the hopes of seeing if it gets made or not.

In the meantime, you can check out Alice: Madness Returns on Xbox One, as it's currently backwards compatible through Xbox 360. It's well worth the play.
