UPDATE: Capcom reiterated today that Sigma and Black Panther DLC are still in the mix, but haven’t provided release dates. Whew.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is only just coming out, but we already know the next four faces that will be joining the cast of the fighting crossover title.

While not all the names have been confirmed just yet, we know the next four that will be coming sometime this year. Now, keep in mind we don’t have official artwork or a trailer just yet. Also, this is just the DLC for this year, as Capcom could be planning more additions in 2018, so don’t be discouraged that your favorite hasn’t made the cut yet. After all, Black Panther is in the campaign, so it’s very likely he’ll be playable sometime next year — likely when his film arrives in February.
For now, let’s see who’s joining the party over the next few months!
Monster Hunter
Although we can’t quite play as her yet, the female Monster Hunter character does appear in the story mode ofย Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, assisting Black Panther. From the looks of her, this female warrior looks to have a rather large sword that she’ll be able to use in battle, though other weapons fromย otherย Monster Hunter characters, like firearms, could enter the fray as well. As for her super, it’s possible she could summon a large creature to help her out, or create a combo with multiple hits. Regardless, it’ll be great to see a Monster Hunter join the party, especially withย World around the corner for a 2018 release.
Black Widow
Yep, Black Widow is finally joining the Marvel vs. Capcom lineup, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. She’s a versatile warrior that can easily go toe-to-toe with some of Marvel’s best, and she could go a few rounds with Captain Marvel as well. Her sleek style and speed make her an unpredictable opponent, and hopefully she’ll have her batons and a few firearms for good measure, so she can strike up close and from a distance. Expect a model similar to the comic build, although there could be Scarlett Johansson-like touches as well. We’ll see.
Winter Soldier
Yes! Bucky is joining the party, and it looks like he’ll be pretty damn close in strength to Captain America. Expect the same versatile โ and dangerous โ soldier that we’ve been introduced to both in comics and recent Captain America films, with his metallic arm playing a big part in his attacks. Who knows, he might just have a shield of his own to use as a projectile as well. Whatever the case, we can’t wait to mix things up with a tag team featuring both Winter Soldier and Captain America. Let’s fight!
Venom
At long last, the long-tongued anti-hero from Spider-Man’s world is making a comeback. We’ve gotten used to Venom in previous Marvel vs. Capcom games, and were disappointed that he didn’t make the cut in the last couple of releases. So we’re happy he’s back. He’s bound to be as quick as he’s ever been, with a number of black suit-style attacks and the Venom Factor possibly making a return, hitting an opponent many times in one shot. And it’ll be so good to hear “We are Venom” again!
“We know there has been much speculation on who the remaining four DLC characters will be,” Capcomย stated in a press release,ย “and we are happy to announce that Monster Hunter, Winter Soldier, Black Widow and the shape-shifting Venom will all be battling their way intoย Marvel vs. Capcom: Infiniteย later this year. We are hard at work on these characters and can’t wait to show them to you when they are ready!”
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite releases on September 19th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
