Friday the 13th: The Game Explains Upcoming Single Player Components
Friday the 13th: The Game has laid out it’s detailed plans for the single player part of the [...]
Challenges
Dropping some news that might be pretty disappointing for some players looking forward to the single player content, the game's team confirmed that single player won't be driven by a story. Rather, it'll be propelled by a series of challenges, deaths, and perhaps a bit of nudity.
"The F13 films weren't really known for their narrative. Sure, there's a story in the films, but again, not the focal point per se. It was about Jason, victims, awesome kills and the occasional boob, right? That's the approach we took with challenges."
The announcement compared their direction for the challenges with that of the Hitman games where instead of being a trained killer, players will take the role of Jason Voorhees as they slash apart Counselors. Instead of starting out like it does in multiplayer where everyone's aware of Jason, the Challenges will start from the first scene where Jason can stalk his unaware prey.
Killing people with certain weapons, picking the Counselors off in certain ways, or just slaughtering everyone are just a few of the Challenges that were previewed, but expect many more to come.

The second part of the single player content is Offline Bots, a component that contains pretty much exactly what the title implies.
This game mode can only be played by yourself, so even inviting and playing with friends is a no-go here. However, it does give players the chance to avoid the lottery of playing as Jason in a multiplayer match since you'll only be able to play as Jason in the Offline Bots feature.
Aside from allowing players to play as Jason whenever they want, this game mode will also be the perfect training grounds for Jason players to hone their talents. True, the AI likely won't react nearly the same as other players do in PvP matches, but it'll be an excellent way to test Shift ranges, trapping objectives in a timely manner, and managing the map well to take down all the Counselors.

The final part of the single player build is Virtual Cabin 2.0, a revamping of the first Virtual Cabin iteration that was part of the initial Kickstarter campaign.
Virtual Cabin first had a couple of surprises and puzzles for fans of the Friday the 13th movies with nods towards the films, and the team has doubled down on that part of the game by expanding the size of the game mode with even more incentives to look forward to. Again comparing the experience to another game, a "good/fun horror demo that got canceled" that sounds a lot like P.T., the brief teaser from Kojima Productions, the game's team promised that there'll be several jump scares in the cabin as well.
Those who had the original Virtual Cabin will retain access when 2.0 is released, but everybody across platforms will be able to explore the new version.
