After a teaser about a new burst mage champion that could supposedly put enemies to sleep and interact with their Summoner Spells, League of Legends has revealed the game’s next champion to be Zoe: The Aspect of Twilight.
Compared to other champions, Zoe definitely has a more light-hearted, child-like design. She doesn’t appear to take the battles too seriously, but from the quick 1-on-1 and roaming potential that’s shown in the teaser trailer above, she definitely looks like she’s got the tools to rack up some kills. She has a ricochet projectile ability, a long-range sleep attack, and a portal technique that can help her quickly avoid incoming damage that likely have even more intricate details than what’s shown here.

But with all of these moves, one of the most interesting parts of the champion appears to be her ability to copy enemies’ Summoner Spells after they’ve been used.
Copying Summoner Spells
There’s a lot going on in Zoe’s hectic gameplay within the trailer, but the mage appears to be able to Flash multiple times or use other spells by mimicking enemies’ Summoner Spells that they’ve recently used.
After Zoe uses her Flash, three orbs appear around her body that quickly decrease in number. Once an enemy has used a Summoner Spell, they apparently drop a similar orb that contains an image of the spell inside of it. Once picked up by Zoe, she can then use that ability, thus resulting in several quick Flashes.
The orbs seem to refresh every time Zoe uses a Summoner Spell, so when everyone’s Flashing and Exhausting during teamfights, Zoe looks to have several options at her disposal. Without seeing ability details or an HUD, it’s unclear exactly how this move works or which of her abilities its effect rests on, but that move combined with the new Summoner Spell-swapping rune and Zoe will have a field day with her spells when’ she’s released.
