Earlier this year, Nintendo Switch owners were surprised to learn that Starbreeze's action-packed bank heist multiplayer game, Payday 2, would be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. And it won't be long now before you get the opportunity to pull off the crime of the century.

Starbreeze has announced that the game will be available for the system starting on February 27th in the U.S., although European and Australian gamers are a bit on the lucky side, as they'll be able to play starting on February 23rd.

Here's a quick overview of the game, for those of you that are new to the world of Payday:

"PAYDAY 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter where you rob banks and get paid. Up to four friends co-operate on the hits and as the crew progresses the jobs become bigger, better and more rewarding. Along with earning more money and becoming a legendary criminal Crime does pay – use your funds to customize your character with new skillsets that change the way you play and kit them out with their own guns and gear."

So, yes, Payday 2 will have a big portion of multiplayer to go around, which should be a hit for players looking for some action on the Switch. We'll keep you informed on its development process, but don't be surprised if this game makes a smooth getaway when it arrives early next year.

Payday 2 is also available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
