The server maintenance for Destiny 2 has now concluded with the release of some hotfix notes that focused on the Iron Banner and Faction Rallies.

Posted just after the scheduled maintenance ended that took down the Destiny 2 servers for a while, the notes were short and sweet, but they also provided two welcome changes for users who haven't yet purchased the Curse of Osiris DLC. The changes in the small update from Bungie are detailed below from their recent hotfix post:

Iron Banner

  • Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may once again access Iron Banner when available

Faction Rallies

  • Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may once again pledge to Factions during Faction Rally events

Since the Curse of Osiris DLC was released, players who didn't have access to it weren't able to participate in several activities, the two mentioned in the hotfix being the most notable ones. Several other features were re-enabled for players recently, but the Iron Banner and Faction Rally changes now join the list of features that all players have access to.

The changes were exactly what Bungie previewed would be included in the patch when the scheduled maintenance was announced earlier in the week, but it appears that players also have more to look forward to later in the year according to a tweet from the game's community manager.

There are still other issues that players would likely hope to see fixed in Destiny 2, so the subjects that need to be talked about according to DeeJ might involve some solutions for other player feedback. More DLC and ongoing events are guarantees for the new year though, so Destiny 2 players will certainly still have plenty to look forward to when it comes to extending the life of Bungie's game.
