While a lot of people got to attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year, there were quite a few that missed out – and didn’t get to see games like Deep Silver’s forthcoming Saints Row spin-off Agents of Mayhem. Fortunately, the developers over at Volition have opted to ease their pain a little bit, and have released the full demo that was featured at the trade show last week.

In the video, which you can see above, video editor Josh Stinson walks you through what players saw on the show floor, and also breaks down not only the Saints Row-based origins of Agents of Mayhem, but also a little bit on how the combat system works.

The game is an open-world action title, similar to the Saints Row games, where you have to complete a number of missions across the city of Seoul, utilizing a number of agents (12 in all) to beat the bad guys and complete said missions. These characters vary, each with their own special weapons and skill sets. And, yes, you can add the 13th hero, Johnny Gat of Saints Row fame, to the game if you pre-order it at select retailers, like GameStop and Steam.

The video does a great job explaining how the in-game combat works, and the various options you have available when it comes to kicking ass and taking names. For good measure, you also get to see what the in-game humor is like, and if you recall either Saints Row The Third or Saints Row IV (or its spin-off, Gat Out of Hell), then chances are you know that you’re in good hands.

You also get introduced to some of the characters, including villains that you go up against, as some of the game’s story mode is broken down in the video. It’s pretty lengthy, running at nearly 45 minutes, so be sure to soak it all in so you have a good idea of what you’re in for. And, yes, it’s silly, but that’s the point, really.

You can check out Agents of Mayhem for yourself when it arrives on August 15th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC!
