Earlier this week, we reported first details on a possible new expansion pack for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare under the name of Absolution. Well, it appears that we weren’t too far off.

Today, Activision confirmed that Absolution is in fact the name of the new expansion, and it’ll be arriving on July 6th on PlayStation 4. It comes with four new multiplayer maps โ including one that’s on a miniature golf course? โ as well as a new Zombies map that’s confirmed as Attack of the Radioactive Thing! What we didn’t know, however, is that Cassandra Peterson, who portrays the buxom horror babe Elvira, will be involved with the expansion.
In Radioactive Thing!, players make their way through the 50’s era in a beach town, where a government science experiment has gone horribly wrong, and it’s up to the survivors to fend off the zombie hordes the best way they know how. Willard Wyler, the director from Zombies In Spaceland, makes his return, once again voiced by Paul “Pee Wee Herman” Reubens, and Peterson’s character will play a big part as well, helping survivors with gameplay tips and side quests, in her unique style. Also part of the cast are Seth Green (from Robot Chicken), Jay Pharoah (Saturday Night Live) and Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live), returning from the ongoing story in previous chapters.
“Our team couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce another wild, twisted zombies experience in Attack of the Radioactive Thing!, which continues the story and adds some awesome new gameplay,” said Dave Stohl, Studio Head of Infinity Ward. “For our multiplayer fans, we’re delivering four diverse maps that reward the different gameplay styles our community has embraced since the game launched last year. We can’t wait.”
But the Zombies map is just one part of the package, as there will be four new multiplayer maps thrown in. The official descriptions from Infinity Ward are as follows:
- Bermuda โ A shantytown created around the remnants of a crashed ship, Bermudaallows players to duck, dive, and wall ride from the fish market to the lighthouse in this small to medium sized map that’s been water-wasted and sandblasted.
- Permafrost โ Set within the chill of a frozen city skyline, Permafrostlets players stick to the ground and pick their plan of attack in one of three main lanes. They will traverse the map, moving from street side to train station, and hobo village to wrecked theater house in this small, tight-quarters map.
- Fore โ In Fore, the only thing miniature about this large map is the golf courses players will be fighting in. Forefeatures great visual variety as players swing around the sights and sounds of areas that brandish magical forests, giant creamsicles, and elevated castle walls.
- Ember โ Located near an old town castle, Emberis a remake of the Modern Warfare 3 classic map Resistance, featuring old world aesthetics retrofitted with modern technology. The surroundings include lava, gallows and a torture room, where players will want to stick close to their teammates.
We’ve included a gallery that provides a good first look at these maps, and we’ll have more details leading into the expansion’s release.
The expansion will arrive on PlayStation 4 starting July 6th, and will likely hit on Xbox One and PC later in August. Pricing is set at $14.99, or free of charge if you already purchased the Season Pass.
