This year’s D23 Expo was a great success for Disney, but, unfortunately, we won’t be seeing another event on our shores for two years. That said, there is a D23 Expo that will be taking place in Japan next year – and there’s something cool happening that Kingdom Hearts fans won’t want to miss.

The company has announced that Kingdom Hearts III will take center stage during D23 Expo 2018, and not only are we likely to learn more about the game’s final release info (thus far, we only know that it’s coming sometime next year), but there will also likely be big fan involvement with the event. In previous years, fans were able to win tickets to get a first look at the game, as well as seeing other exclusive footage and talking with key staff and voice actors behind it. There’s a very good chance that Disney could do something like this again for the next show, which will take place from February 10th through the 12th at Tokyo Disney Resort.

Disney didn’t detail its exact plans of what’s going down, but it did note that Kingdom Hearts III would get a huge focus, as well as whatever it has planned for its other respective franchises, including Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. Like this year’s D23 Expo, this will probably be done across a number of panels, as well as presentations on the show floor.

We’ll see what happens in the months ahead, but, yeah, this should be one hell of a show.

Kingdom Hearts III will release sometime next year for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
