Overwatch is a shooter from Blizzard that quickly became THE game to own soon after its release. With its ever-growing roster of diverse heroes to choose from, there is a character for everyone to enjoy and relate to within this new world. With heroes coming from all sorts of backgrounds, many fans often put themselves into the world of Overwatch, and one player did just that with this stunning design of a new Thai hero named Tara.

Thai artist under the tag of RM-Parfait took to the Blizzard forums to show off her latest Overwatch–inspired work. Her creation was actually a part of an assignment while she continues to work on her Master’s degree. Tara, meaning “water” in Thai, is gorgeous in both her aesthetic design and her support abilities.
Meet Tara
The artist behind Tara claims Siamese fighting fish as her inspiration for the hero, and the local plaited bamboo fish in her aesthetic as well. Everything about this character is true to the meaning of her name: water.ย
Being a support hero, her abilities include:
- Bubble – Once fired at an enemy, encases them in a bubble for two secondsย
- Healing Drone – A drone that once deployed, heals all allies in a 1.5 meter radius
Overwatchย director Jeff Kaplanย was even impressed by this well-thought out hero; replying, “Wow, this is so amazing! You are so talented!” This of course got fans in the thread excited and immediately prompted them to show their support by begging him to take on this artist as a part of their design team.ย
Her skins and new map:
There areย tonsย of concept art developed for Tara, too much to display here, but the gist includes incredible skins and even a Thai-inspired map for the new hero. With several colour variations for the general Thai skin, and a vibrantly coloured Halloween skin; this artist’s concept art looks straight out of an official Overwatchย book.
Who knows, perhaps we will see this amazing artwork transferred into the game! Jeff Kaplan himself aspired to his position after being a hugely recognizable player in the World of Warcraft community. If he can become the game director for Overwatch, anything can happen.ย
Overwatchย is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Don’t forget that the latest title from Blizzard is free to play this weekend for PC players!
