Though Kojima Productions’ debut title Death Stranding continues to remain a mystery, that doesn’t mean we still can’t squeeze out every detail we can manage while Hideo Kojima prepares for the big reveal! Though we’ve seen glimmers of what’s to come in the form of completely nonsensical trailers, it’s just not enough and we want to know more – just like many others out there. While we wait (not) patiently, Guillermo del Torro did sit down to talk a little bit what it is like working on such a mysterious project and more on his friendship with the famed Kojima-san himself.

For those that might think he has a much grander role in the upcoming title, del Toro told IGN differently:
“It’s been great as a friendship, and it’s been great as a learning experience. In Death Stranding I’m just a puppet. I don’t know what he’s gonna make me do. He’s supposedly going to show me the gameplay at some point in the next couple of weeks.”
He also opened up a little bit about his playable teaser to the Silent Hill game that never game to be – P.T, “My most rewarding experience was to know him and help him realize P.T., which never happened on Silent Hills.”
Guillermo del Toro isn’t the only star attached to this project; Norman Reedum and Mads Mikkelsen are also lending their talents to the upcoming game. We don’t know much about Death Stranding, but we know it will be gorgeous. Kojima Productions is teaming up with Horizon Zero Dawn’s Guerrilla Games to utilise the Decima Engine and it promises nothing short of a graphically phenomenal experience.
Death Stranding, at this time, has no release window and Hideo Kojima has previously stated he’s not quite ready to reveal more yet.
