Injustice 2 will be welcoming nine additional DLC characters to its cast of 29 core fighters, and recently NetherRealm surprised us all be revealing the first three. Fan-requested powerhouses Red Hood and Starfire are leading the charge, and Sub-Zero is showing up as our first guest character. The official NetherRealm bios for each of these characters have finally appeared on the official Injustice 2 site, and we’ve got them all for you right here. Just keep scrolling to read about where these guys fit in.

I said above that Sub-Zero is our “first” guest character because we’re still expecting a few more non-DC characters to show up. Who those might be is still a mystery, but we actually have a few guesses. In the same trailer that revealed Sub-Zero, Starfire, and Red Hood, we caught a glimpse of some mysterious figures silhouetted behind them. Some of those silhouettes had very familiar shapes, and we’ve made two rounds of educated guesses as to who they belong to. You can find those here and here.
Today, though, we’re sticking with the sure things. We’ll leave the speculation for when we have more clues. For now we can just be thankful that Red Hood and Starfire are sure things, and we’re so thrilled to have Sub-Zero invading this world like his brother did years ago. Keep scrolling to find out more about them.
Red Hood
“CAN’T FIGHT CRIME WITHOUT CRACKING A FEW SKULLS.”
“Jason Todd once served as Batman’s second protรฉgรฉ “Robin” before being brutally murdered by The Joker. Years later, the powerful healing waters of the Lazarus Pit brought Jason Todd back to life. However the power of the pit comes at a cost, and a change takes hold in Jason. He now uses mantle of the Red Hood to wage a lethal war on crime.”
Why is it always Robin who turns edgy and brutal? I guess since Batman refuses to use lethal means to fight crime, there has to be some kind of anti-hero balance. Either way, Red Hood is one of the most exciting anti-heroes in the DC multiverse, and we can’t wait to see his moveset.
Starfire
“THIS PRINCESS FIGHTS HER OWN BATTLES.”
“As the next Queen of Tamaran, Princess Koriand’r found herself the victim of her fratricidal sister’s vengeful plot that resulted in their planet being conquered. Now a royal exile on Earth, Koriand’r uses her ability to absorb and convert ultraviolet energy as Starfire.”
Here we have another Titan added to the roster, and it’s Starfire’sย reveal that has us thinking that we may yet see Raven make a return forย Injustice 2 to join Robin and Cyborg. We’d love to see a full reunion eventually, but we’ll more than likely be waiting until the next batch of DLC for that one.ย
Sub-Zero
“I SEEK A WORTHY KOMBATANT.”
“To honor his murdered brother, Kuai Liang entered the second Mortal Kombat tournament to exact revenge against Scorpion. With his retribution complete, he returned home to assume leadership of the Lin Kuei clan, as its Grandmaster, the second Sub-Zero turned the organization into one of Earthrealm’s most dependable allies.”
Scorpion made an appearance in the originalย Injustice: Gods Among Us, so it’s only fitting that Sub-Zero leaves his mark in the sequel. We have a feeling that Raidenย will also make an appearance at some point, but unfortunately we’re still holding our breath.ย
