NetherRealm Studios has issued another update to the Injustice 2 community, days after a quick game update wiped out all gear for every character. Unfortunately, things aren’t looking much better.

Here’s what NetherRealm had to say:

An initial update after the incident informed players that rebooting the game would restore all gear that was lost, as long as that gear was earned before September 25th. The team was still looking into the recovery of any and all gear or premiere skins unlocked after September 25th.

Injustice 2 was a smashing success, which, unfortunately for NetherRealm, means that a ton of paying customers are playing the game at all times. That means that a lot of Legendary Gear was unlocked after the 25th. A lot of Premiere Skins were purchased with source crystals. A lot of disgruntled fans are waiting to hear some good news, and last night’s update was not the good news they were looking for.

The wording is very troubling. The patch “will stop the deletion of Gear,” which is nice, but will it restore the gear that we’ve already lost? This is the question on everyone’s mind.

Are we screwed?

Twitter users who read the update recognized the red flags straight away, and wasted no time in asking the only question that truly matters:

Ever since the update hit, these are the questions that have been hanging in the air. Two days’ worth of gear doesn’t sound like much, but when you factor in millions of players you realize that it’s going to be aย huge deal to many fans.ย

What do you think? Is the gear coming back, or are we about to see an announcement for a Motherboxย giveaway as a way to apologize?

Is the gear coming back?
