Injustice 2 Mobile is set to launch tomorrow, May 11, on iOS and Android. We went hands-on with it recently, and you can read our preview right here. Many DC Comics fans around the world are already playing, however, since the game appears to have released early on iOS late last night. I was contacted by YouTuber "TheHackingFreak" (channel here), who's been streaming Injustice 2 Mobile content for some time now. He reported that, coinciding with the early global release last night, the game also updated with the first part of the Shattered Alliances story mode -- the same story mode found on the console version of the game.

TheHackingFreak had uploaded the first part of the story mode walkthrough to his channel, but soon realized that it had been taken down by WB and hit with a copyright claim. The game is in the hands of thousands at this point, however, and there are still streams out there that haven't been taken down.

We figure it's only a matter of time. Below is an image shared with us from TheHackingFreak which shows the first part of the story mode unlocked in Injustice 2 Mobile. We edited out the name of the episode for those of you who are more spoiler sensitive:

While many players have accessed and played through the first section of the campaign, others have reported that it remains unavailable. As for the game itself, at the time of writing this article it's still showing up on the iTunes App Store with a release date of May 9, despite the release date from the official Injustice 2 Mobile site reading May 11. Needless to say, some wires got crossed here.

It's time to don your blinders and keep your heads down. If you're wanting to go into Injustice 2's story mode spoiler free next week, YouTube is probably a site you should avoid for the next few days. Otherwise, if you're an iPhone owner, you may want to go check out the App Store for yourself and see if you can't download Injustice 2 and get a head start.

As for those dealing with copyright strikes, the jury is still out. We know from the recent streaming restrictions from Atlus for Persona 5 that publishers have every right to take down unwanted content that they own, and file strikes against the YouTubers who stream the content anyway. As for TheHackingFreak, he expressed his frustration that the game was released globally with the Story Mode unlocked, and believes that WB should have given him a warning or released an official statement before issuing a copyright strike. We've reached out to the Injustice 2 Mobile team for comment, and will update you if we hear anything about the issue.
