Our first solution comes from a Reddit thread where users Donaldmcdonald31 and OdinsSacrifice have found viable ways to unlock Red Hood in your roster. It should go without saying that this will only work after you’ve purchased Red Hood, the first fighter pack, or deluxe / premium versions of Injustice 2.
This is going to sound counter-intuitive, but stick with us. The first thing you want to do is go AFK on the main menu. Eventuall, a fight between the AI will load up for you to watch. Go ahead and skip this fight, and you should be greeted by a message stating that Red Hood is now available. This worked for many users, but not for all. For those who were still encountering problems, the following solution worked for PS4 owners:
Exit the game and go back to your PlayStation home screen. Don’t enter the PSN store. Instead, highlight Injustice 2 on the menu and press down to go into the additional game options. Head down to the add-ons selection, and you should be able to find and select Red Hood there. Don’t select the Fighter Pack, select Red Hood individually. This worked for almost everyone.
For those of you who are playing Xbox One or still experience issues, WB posted its own guide which you can see below.
WB’s Instructions
WB’sย advice is much the same, but it gives you very specific step by step instructions on how to verify your purchase and then unlock Red Hood. Here’s what they said:
ย
Onย PS4ย you can verify content has been downloaded by doing the following:
Visit the Injustice 2 page on your PS4 Home Menu or Game Library
Select the game and scroll down to the “Playstation Store” section at the bottom.
From the My Addons section you can manually download individual pieces of content you own. If the content has already been downloaded, it will say “Installed” next to it.
You can also click “View All” to see store options too, and should see the DLC available with a price of “Free” if you haven’t already downloaded it and own the Ultimate Edition, Ultimate Pack,ย Deluxe Edition, or Fighter Pack 1
Onย Xbox Oneย you can verify content has been downloaded by doing the following:
Go to My Games and Apps
Locate Injustice 2 and press Menu
Select Manage Game
Scroll all the way to the right on this menu to see what DLC is Ready to Install, and start those installs.
Next, if Red Hood is still not playable after confirming that the DLC has downloaded successfully, try the following:
Start the game and get to the Main Menu
Allow the game to Idle for a minute or two, long enough for an AI battle to automatically start
Once the AI battle has started, you can interrupt it by pressing any button
Red Hood should now be available to play if you own the DLC
If this fails, try going to Main Menu -> Online and allowing the game to idle for a minute or two
