A new Nintendo Switch console exclusive has a new November release date, but unfortunately for those on Nintendo Switch 2, there is no native Switch 2 version. The new release will be playable on the console, via backward compatibility, but for now, that is the extent of it. It may seem odd to skip the new console in favor of releasing on the older one, but right now it is fairly common practice, especially if the game in question doesn’t greatly benefit from the extra power of the newer machine.

The new Nintendo Switch game in question is called Detective Instinct: Farewell, My Beloved from developer Armonica, and it is releasing on the Nintendo eShop on November 26. When it does, it won’t be available on any other console. The only other confirmed platform is Steam.
About the Game:
As some may be able to glean from the trailer above, Detective Instinct: Farewell, My Beloved is in the style of old-school Japanese adventure games, with some visual novel elements mixed in. To this end, unless you like visual novels or old-school Japanese adventure games, there is a decent chance this new release won’t be for you.
For those interested in knowing more, the game follows the events of a grisly murder of a man in a hotel and a woman vanishing without a trace on a cross-country train. And that’s where you, the player character, come into play as the only person on the train who remembers her.
This is set to be a debut release from the developer, so it’s difficult to know what to expect. This could be the next great indie adventure game, or it could end up not being that noteworthy. What makes it noteworthy right now is that it’s one of the last few Nintendo Switch exclusive games of 2025, joining the likes of the recently revealed Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 remasters and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond as imminent eShop releases.
What is currently not clear is how much Detective Instinct: Farewell, My Beloved is going to cost when it hits the Nintendo eShop in roughly two months. Given the apparent scope, ambition, and size of the game, it is safe to assume a humble price point probably somewhere between $5 and $25. All of that said, and as always, feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you think, or join the conversation in the ComicBook Forum. Will you be checking out this Nintendo Switch and PC game when it releases later this year?
