New PlayStation Game Reportedly Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

A new PlayStation game is reportedly coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. September’s big Nintendo Direct went down last week, and PlayStation was missing. This has opened the door for speculation on what PlayStation’s support of the console will be. Sony didn’t support the Nintendo Switch in any meaningful capacity, but it was starting to experiment with it toward the end of its lifecycle, as evidenced by games like LEGO Horizon Adventures. That said, while Sony remains timid in bringing games to other consoles, it looks like one of its best PS4 games will be coming to the new Nintendo console regardless.

More specifically, a new report claims that Death Stranding is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Now, the publishing rights behind the incredible Hideo Kojima game have always been nebulous, but if Death Stranding does come to Nintendo Switch, it will presumably be handled by 505 Games rather than PlayStation, as the former has published the game on both PC and Xbox. For those do not know, Kojima Productions owns the IP, but the publishing rights of the game have never been crystal clear. Whatever the case, what matters for Nintendo Switch 2 fans is that the great 2019 PS4 game is said to be coming to Switch 2.

The Source

The new report comes from Nash Weedle, a well-known Nintendo insider, and someone who leaked several announcements at the aforementioned Nintendo Direct before they were announced. Not only does Nash Weedle report the existence of the report, but claims that the announcement “could be close.” The insider does not mention Tokyo Game Show later this month, but that certainly seems like a possible venue for the announcement.

Death Stranding 2

The report makes no mention of Death Stranding 2 coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and while this port is certainly a possibility, if not probable, if the first game comes to Switch, it won’t be for a while. First, it will come to PC, and whenever PlayStation’s exclusivity window closes, then it will be able to come to Nintendo Switch 2 and other consoles. If the first game is any barometer, it won’t be permitted to come to any other console for at least five years.

All of that said, remember to take everything here with a grain of salt. Nothing here is official, and nothing here has been commented on by any official party. If the latter changes, we will update the story accordingly. In the meantime, and as always, feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you think, or join the conversation over in the ComicBook Forum. Will you revisit Death Stranding on Nintendo Switch 2?
