The Metroid franchise is set for a major comeback with Metroid: Samus Returns and Metroid Prime 4 on the way for the Nintendo 3DS and Switch, respectively. Who knows, we may even get special Metroid editions of the 3DS and Switch — Nintendo does love riling up the fans with new color schemes!

Well, Redditor Sylux102 wasn’t waiting around for Nintendo to make an official Metroid-themed Switch. He took matters into his own hands, designed his own, and it’s pretty awesome. You can check it out, below.

Here’s what Sylux102 had to say about the design:

“Here’s my custom Metroid-themed Nintendo Switch! I designed it in GIMP, then paid XLTEAM on Etsy to work their magic making it come to life. Couldn’t be happier. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the paint is a metallic matte paint, and the buttons are green.”

Here’s a closer look at the Joy-Cons, which better shows off the dark green buttons and metallic paint. Definitely a step up over the basic grey models! Oh, and I also want those Metroid action figures behind the Switch.

Want your own custom-colored Nintendo Switch? You’ve got a few options. As our Redditor mentioned, there are folks on Etsy, like XLTeam that will do custom controllers and consoles, or you can head on over to ColorWare and design a masterpiece using their simple Flash program. Designing your own special Switch will cost you (ColorWare charges $500 for a custom-colored Switch), but if may be worth it if you’re looking to bring a little swagger to your entertainment center.

Metroid: Samus Returns rolls onto the 3DS on September 15, while Metroid Prime 4 is expected to hit the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2018.
