Nyko Reveals Smaller, Affordable Nintendo Switch Dock, New Pro Controller, More

. Let’s take a look!

At the time of writing, I only have one Nintendo Switch accessory that I never leave the house (or even a room in my house) without, and that’s my HORI Nintendo Switch stand. There are some quality of life issues that I’m sure a handy accessory or two could alleviate for me, but I just haven’t seen the right tools at the right price — until now.

Nyko just revealed an entire line of Nintendo Switch accessories, and either these guys are serious Nintendo Switch gamers themselves, or they’ve been lurking on the message boards and reading what all the players are saying. These accessories are all practical in their function, minimal in their size, and affordable in price. Nyko isn’t cutting me a fat check to say this, and I don’t have a mountain of its products sitting on my desk either — these are just the types of accessories I’ve been looking for.

From battery life, to kickstand woes, to Joy-Con management and console storage, Nyko has addressed pretty much every facet of the avid Switch gamer’s daily needs. Below we’re highlighting a few of our favorite new products, and by the time you read this you should be able to find them for pre-order at Amazon (or GameStop). Let’s take a look!

Core Controller

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is one of the most comfortableย controllers I’ve ever held in my life, and Nyko’sย Core Controller looks to mimic its design closely. For those of you who prefer the feeling of a full-sized controller in your hands while playing, this is a nice alternative to Nintendo’s hard-to-find $70 pro controller.

“Core Controller is a full-sized controller for players who prefer the feel and ergonomics of a more traditional controller over the Joy-Cons. The controller features wired precision for lag-free play and includes programmable turbo for any controller button. Core Controller will be available later this year for an MSRP of $29.99, and is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com.”

Clip Grip Power

The Clip Grip Power is marketed as the perfect solution for online gaming and interaction after Nintendo releases its online app, but we’re also thinking that this is a perfect solution for anyone who can get their Joy-Con synced up to their smartphoneย for emulators. If you’re on the road, you’ll already have your Nintendo Switch and Joy-Con with you, right? Why not bring this thing along for thoseย times when you want to boot up your PS1 emulator on your phone? That extra storage and charging is a huge bonus.

“Clip Grip Power is an ergonomic attachment that allows users to mount their cell phone to easily interact with the Nintendo Online App while playing. Clip Grip Power also includes an internal battery, which gives users extra play time by serving as a versatile secondary power source for the Joy-Cons, cell phone, or Switch console itself. It also includes built-in storage for game cards and Micro-SD cards inside the grip for easy access. Clip Grip Power will be available later this month for an MSRP of $24.99, and is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com.”

Want to take your Switch to friends’ houses to play on the big screen, and tired of lugging your bulky dock around? Want to be able to set up your Switch on multiple TVs in your house but don’t want to pay $80 for another dock? Nyko’s got your back with this small and affordable solution.

“Portable Docking Kit is a compact docking station that allows players to easily connect the Switch console to a TV without carrying their home dock everywhere with them. Powered by a USB Type-C AC Adapter, the kit keeps the Switch charged while playing on the TV and includes a built-in stand to keep the console upright, with ports for the HDMI cable and AC adapter. Portable Docking Kit will be available in Fall 2017 for an MSRP of $44.99, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com and GameStop.com.”

Charge Block for Joy-Con

This one is purely practical. If you’re like me and you own multiple sets of Joy-Con for when friends and family want to play together, keeping track of them (and keeping them charged) is a bit of a chore. Slap ’em down in one place, and make sure they’re charged and ready to go when you are.

“Charge Block is a sleek drop-and- charge solution for Joy-Con that allows players to easily slide and charge up to four controllers in each block. Charge Block for Joy-Con is compatible with Nyko’s existing line of Charge Blocks for PS4 and Xbox One controllers, and users can connect blocks from the various platforms to create a universal charging system. Charge Block plugs into a USB port or AC outlet for recharging. Charge Block for Joy-Con will be available in August 2017 for an MSRP of $19.99, and is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com and GameStop.com.”

Power Pak

Another highly practical accessory here, and a must-own for anyone who doesn’t already have a backup power solution for their Switch. If you’re planning any long trips and you foresee more than five or six hours of gaming between charges, the Power Pakย ensures that you’ll have all the juice you need — without having to lug around a separate portable battery and cables. Plus, that flimsy little kickstand gets a big upgrade here.

“Power Pak is a 5000 mAh battery pack that provides up to two times the battery life of Switch. Power Pak easily recharges using a Type-C cable, and includes a reinforced, collapsible kickstand that supports both the Switch and the added weight of Power Pak. Power Pak will be available in July 2017 for an MSRP of $39.99, and is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com.”

“Power Shell Case is a dual-purpose case for Nintendo Switch – it’s the perfect solution for storing the console and up to 12 games (or 11 games and two Micro-SD cards) when not in use, and includes a 6000 mAh battery pack for easy recharging of the console with the included integrated Type-C cable. The Type-C cable and accompanying cable management system are integrated into the interior of the case to help keep the cable tidy. Power Shell Case also features a Micro-USB port on the outside of the case and comes with a separate Micro-USB cable to easily recharge the internal battery pack.

“To guard against overheating, the Power Shell Case comes with a built-in auto shutoff feature that prevents recharging of the console while the case is fully closed. The case also includes a built-in, collapsible stand that easily flips up to support the console in Table-Top mode. The stand features a cutout pass-through for the built-in charging cable, allowing the console to continue charging while in use. Power Shell Case will be available in July 2017 for an MSRP of $39.99, and is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com.”
