Pokemon Go Extends Raid Curfew Hours

Pokemon Go players will be able to participate in raids for a couple more hours every day. Players have noticed that the game's "curfew" on raids has shrunk by two hours, with raids appearing earlier in the morning and later in the evening than they did over the weekend.

Originally, Pokemon Go had a raid curfew set from 9 PM to 9 AM. This meant that no new raids would start at night, even in areas that remained open to the public overnight. While the game refused to acknowledge the existence of the raid curfew, it's believed that it was set up to limit potential complaints about Pokemon Go players trespassing on closed park grounds or other areas to find a late night raid.

Last night, players noticed that raids had start times as late as 10 PM, an hour later than the initial curfew. In addition, raids began an hour earlier this morning, with some raids beginning as early as 8 AM.

There's a couple of possibilities as to why Pokemon Go extended the curfew time. Either the game's developers are listening to the fanbase's complaints about the curfew, or they're gradually extending the raid times similar to how the game is gradually rolling out raids for lower level players.

Sunset in the Northern Hemisphere is currently at about 9 PM, so the extended raid hours should help players in the US and elsewhere take advantage of these long summer days. We'll see if Pokemon Go lengthens the curfew time again in the coming days.
