Big ‘Pokemon Ultra Sun’ and ‘Ultra Moon’ Announcement Coming Next Week

Pokemon fans should get hyped, as a big announcement is coming about the franchise’s future.

The Pokemon Company announced today that they would release additional information about Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon on November 2nd. While no real hints were given about the news, Game Freak director Shigeru Ohmori said the news was “can’t miss” and would contain major information about the new games.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be the last Pokemon games released for the Nintendo 3DS and are an “alternate re-telling” of last year’s Pokemon Sun and Moon story. While fans were initially worried the new games would contain only minor changes from Pokemon Sun and Moon, recent trailers indicate a radically different storyline with new areas to explore and a storyline much more focused around the mysterious Ultra Beasts.

This is the first time that the Pokemon Company is pre-announcing the release of information about Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which usually indicates that something big is getting announced. While this won’t be a Pokemon Direct, the news release will probably come with some sort of new trailer.

Lots of Rumors

With Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon coming out in just a few weeks, there’s still lots we don’t know about the games. Game Freak already dropped a major bombshell by announcing that three new Pokemon were being added to the game, and there’s rumors that more Alolan Forms could appear in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as well. Players will also get the chance to capture Legendary Pokemon from other Pokemon games, which has raised speculation that the game will feature areas from other regions.

While not officially announced, a download card for the games revealed that Team Rocket was making a comeback in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, although we still don’t know what role they’ll play in the story.
