We’re still going to be waiting a little while before we’re graced with Rockstar Games‘ long-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 for consoles, but some fans were wondering if this game would be the one that would allow the franchise to make its debut on PC. Well, the publisher hasn’t said…at least, not yet.

The original Red Dead Redemption released back in 2010 and became a cult classic for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, also garnering millions of copies sold for the publisher. That said, oddly enough, it never came to PC, despite rumors that the publisher was considering a release for some time.

So now, here we are again, wondering if this will be the time that Redemption finally spreads its wings and flies to the PC format. After all, Grand Theft Auto V is a hit seller on the Steam service, mainly due to the many mods that users have released for it over the years.

During a Q1 2018 earning call, someone asked Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick about the possibility of a PC release…but he’s still not speaking clearly about whether or not it will come. He noted, “Any updates about any of our titles will come from our labels.”

Now, notice that he didn’t say no. He didn’t flat out deny the idea of a PC release. But he was also very vague in his answer, as if he didn’t really have anything to admit. So, right now, your guess is as good as ours – Red Dead Redemption 2 might come to PC, but then again, it might do the same thing that the first game is doing and stay console exclusive.

There is a way you can enjoy Red Dead Redemption on PC. Granted, it’s through the PlayStation Now service, as the game is currently available for play on it, but it certainly beats nothing. Maybe Rockstar Games will make the decision one day to release both the original and the sequel for the format. For now, though, it looks to be console only. Fingers crossed, though.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will release in early 2018 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
