So, in case you missed the news, it doesn't look like Electronic Arts will be making a new entry in the Skate skateboarding series anytime soon, mainly because it's so busy working on AAA titles, as well as a few indie favorites. But not to worry, as the team at crea-ture Studios is working on the next best thing.

We talked about Session a while back, explaining how the team is looking to create a fun yet realistic skateboarding sim for this new generation to enjoy. And now, the team is just about ready to unleash the project on the world – but it needs a little crowdfunding assistance.

Crea-ture Studios has announced that it will start up a Kickstarter campaign for Session on November 14th, hoping to raise a pre-set amount of funds (not yet determined) to get the game made for various platforms.

The game, which is devoted to "all victims of intolerance," will have players showing off creative expression instead of building up multi-million combos like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and points.

You can see the trailer for the forthcoming Kickstarter project above, and, as you can see, the demo looks pretty good, with solid skateboarding animation and an environment that resembles an authentic skate park, right down to the rails and ramps. And this could be just one of the environments featured in the game, though the team hasn't detailed just where we'll be skating just yet.

The developer had already gotten a good amount of funds from the Canada Media Fund to start Session's creation, but now it's looking to get the rest via Kickstarter so it can get the game going for a 2018 release. Platforms haven't been confirmed yet, but the team is likely shooting for PC and consoles, though PC is likely to be the target first, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (and hopefully Nintendo Switch) being stretch goals.

We'll keep tabs on this project as it nears its kick-off next month, but we wish the team at crea-ture the best of luck in getting it made. After all, we need to get our skate back on.
