Super Bomberman R For Nintendo Switch Getting More Bonus Konami Characters

Super Bomberman R has really come a long way since its release on the Nintendo Switch during its launch in March, with a number of free updates that have added all sorts of great content to the game, from new maps to bonus characters straight out of Konami‘s gaming history. Now it looks like even more are on the way.

Konami’s official Japanese Bomberman Twitter page has revealed three more characters that will be joining the fray sometime this year, as part of a free update to the game. And just like previous characters, Konami fans will likely recognize these guys right off the bat.

First up is a recognizable female wrestler from the company’s Rumble Roses games, the very beautiful Reiko. She’ll be packing a punch as she drops Reiko bombs on her opponents, just like a champ.

Next up is Anubis, who was featured in the forthcoming Zone of the Enders trailer for the new VR game that’ll be coming to PlayStation 4 and PC early next year. He’ll definitely have a lot to add, with his versatility and strength.

Finally, another Zone of the Enders veteran, Jehuty, will also join the ranks – and that should make battles between the two robots all the more interesting. And imagine adding Reiko into the mix.

The three will be added via an update, although Konami hasn’t given a release date for it yet.

Previously, the publisher introduced three very familiar characters to the game, in the form of a character dressed up as the Vic Viper from Gradius; a hero based on Castlevania‘s Simon Belmont; and the dangerous Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. Yep, you read that right – Pyramid Head taking out folks with bombs.

You can check out the images for the characters in the attached gallery, so you can get an idea of how they’ll appear in-game. We’ll keep you notified as to when they’ll be available to play, but hopefully we won’t be waiting long – and maybe a few more Rumble Roses wrestlers will follow, yeah?
