What we’ve seen of Super Mario Odyssey so far has already been pretty wildly varied. A city full of weirdly realistic people, dinosaurs, a world made of food, and much more. This game has it all! That said, there has to be a few more worlds (or “Kingdoms” as they’re called in-game) left to be announced, as Nintendo has only shown or hinted at around six worlds and Mario platformers usually have at least eight.

Well, Nintendo may have stealthily revealed a new Kingdom. Yesterday, the official Japanese Super Mario Odyssey Twitter account sent this out:

Here’s a rough translation of the text:
It’s finally summer! It’s another hot day and August calendar and wallpapers are here! Or try the smartphone calendar. Swimsuits are the theme of the next month, so enjoy!
Hmmm, doesn’t this seem like a strange thing for the Super Mario Odyssey Twitter to post? We haven’t been shown much footage of underwater areas or enemies like Cheep Cheeps yet. A tropical, watery Kingdom would certainly make sense given Mario Odyssey‘s globe-trotting theme. If you were travelling around the world, wouldn’t you include a few nice beaches?
So far Super Mario Odyssey‘s confirmed Kingdoms include the Metro Kingdom (urban theme, with New Donk City being its main attraction), Sand Kingdom (a Mexican-flavored desert world), Wooded Kingdom (a deep forest filled with strange machines), Luncheon Kingdom (a food themed stage), Cascade Kingdom (a prehistoric world filled with dinos), and Cap Kingdom (a dark world where Mario meets his haunted hat, Cappy).
Super Mario Odyssey leaps onto Nintendo Switch on October 27. Don’t forget that Amazon Prime members can save 20% on pre-orders!
