Experience The Walking Dead In Terrifying Detail With New VR App

AMC has just announced a far more immersive way The Walking Dead fans can experience their favourite show. The new virtual reality app will be called AMC VR and it takes fans deeper than they’ve ever gone before within the world of The Walking Dead. Not only that, but to celebrate the franchise’s 100th episode, AMC VR will be offering a special 360 degree VR experience with a bonus scene from the season 8 premiere!

“With the launch of AMC VR, we are pleased to bring shows like ‘The Walking Dead‘ and ‘Into the Badlands’ to life in an immersive and experiential way,” said Mac McKean, EVP of Innovation and Product Development for AMC and SundanceTV. “Viewers want to enter the worlds they watch on AMC, and this app brings them there.”

AMC VR will include four parts to its series directed by Greg Nicotero: 

• “Attacked Pt. 1: Trapped” – You’re trapped in an abandoned car. Can you last until help arrives?
• “Attacked Pt. 2: Surrounded” – The walkers are closing in now, and time is running out.
• “Attacked Pt. 3: Devoured” – Unfortunately, not everyone makes it out alive in this world.
• “Attacked Pt. 4: Herd” – You’re the walking dead. Join the herd.

The Walking Dead Attacked Pt. 1: Trapped

The first part of the four part series has the VR user trapped in an old, abandoned car. Can you survive before help comes? Or will the vicious dead get to you first?

The Walking Dead Attacked Pt. 2: Surrounded

The walkers are closer than ever before as they slowly make their way in the VR wearer’s vision. Get up close and personal with the hungry dead as fans of the series can see what makes the show so great for themselves as if they were right there on set alongside their favourite characters. “The walkers are closing in now, and time is running out?” If you don’t have plans yet for Halloween, this would be the perfect way to get into the spooky, festive spirit! 

The Walking Dead Attacked Pt. 3: Devoured

“Dinner is served.” Can you handle seeing what it would be like to fall victim to walkers and witness them eviscerate you without thought or care? The AMC VR app isn’t pulling any punches when letting you experience the terror within the world of The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead Attacked Pt. 4: Herd

“You’re the walking dead, join the herd.” You couldn’t make it and now you are what you used to fear. Become a part of the herd in preparation for the Season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead this October.
