Stephen King adaptations are the cool thing to do in Hollywood these days, with properties like It, The Dark Tower and Gerald's Game being the latest to get the feature film treatment. Pet Sematary is the next King book on the list, and it looks like the studio has found a team of directors for the project.

According to Deadline, Paramount has tapped Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch to direct the Pet Sematary remake, based on the King novel and Mary Lambert's 1989 film of the same name.

The directing duo of Widmyer and Kolsch are most well-known for their 2014 indie thriller Starry Eyes, as well as their TV work, which includes helming a couple of episodes of MTV's Scream series.

Pet Sematary tells the story of Louis Creed and his wife Rachel, who move their family into a new home. They soon learn that their house is built on top of an old Pet Sematary, and the dead animals buried there have a tendency to come back to life, causing plenty of problems for the family.

Midmyer and Kolsch are directing a script by Jeff Buhler, and the film is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and Steven Schneider. Alexandra Loewy is set to executive produce.

Directors Carlos Fresnadillo and Andy Muschietti were also reportedly approached for the film, with Widmyer and Kolsch ultimately landing the gig.
