There was plenty of action between Black Panther and Bucky Barnes in Captain America: Civil War, but the story may not end there. As some may have guessed based on Civil War‘s mid-credits scene, there’s a possibility that Bucky will appear in the upcoming Black Panther movie.
“It… remains to be seen. He’s certainly in stasis there.” Feige tells Empire. “Where and when he comes out? I’m not sure…”
After the dust settled on Civil War, Bucky willingly allowed himself to be put into status in T’Challa’s kingdom of Wakanda. Helmut Zemo had managed to retrieve the code words Hydra used to brainwash Bucky into the Winter Soldier and used them to turn Bucky against his friends. Fearing it could happen again, Bucky decided to take himself off the board until a solution could be found.
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two campsโone led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Captain America: Civil War is now playing in theaters.
