And though Michael Keaton is no stranger to superhero movies, having brought the Batman to life in the popular Tim Burton-directed series, the actor has taken some time away from capes and powers. Now he’s walking on the side of the bad guys, portraying the Vulture in the character’s first theatrical appearance.
A new featurette focuses on Keaton’s character, who the actor himself describes as “a really interesting approach” to a villain. Check it out in the video above!
“The Vulture does corrupt things in order to fight what he sees as corruption,” Keaton said. “He thinks to himself, ‘they all have theirs, where’s mine?’”
The clip focuses on the Vulture and his crew salvaging tech left behind from Avengers-related battles, using it for their own means and selling it on the black market. It also shows some of the dangerous battles between Spider-Man and the crew, showing him going up against the Vulture and the Shocker.

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland appears in the featurette as well, saying his co-star Keaton “has a very intense, malevolence to him, which is really, really scary.”
“Superhero movies are only as good as their villain,” Holland said. “When people see what he’s done with his character, he really did nail it.”
We’ll be able to see Keaton’s return to the world of comic book superheroes when Spider-Man: Homecoming premieres July 7.
