It looks like Pepper Potts said yes to Tony Stark. The Stark Industries CEO has been MIA in recent years, but the MCU could not ignore Pepper forever. Spider-Man: Homecoming reintroduced the heroine earlier this summer, and it looks like Iron Man did pop the question to his longtime lover.
Fans learned about Pepper’s recent engagement to Tony over on social media. Page Six snapped several new set photos of Gwyneth Paltrow on the set of Avengers 4 with Robert Downey Jr. by her side. The pair were seen filming in Atlanta, and it was hard to ignore the massive engagement ring which Pepper was seen sporting.
The photos, which can be seen here, show Pepper wearing her new ring as she grips Tony’s arms during a tense conversation. Downey Jr. is wearing an undershirt with a newly installed arc reactor glowing from the center of his chest. Pepper appears to speak with Tony before the two lean in for a gentle kiss, and the CEO’s engagement ring is seen sparkling under the sun.
Of course, fans of the MCU should not be surprised to learn about the pair’s next step; After all, Tony did tease his proposal to Pepper at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film followed Tony as he offered Peter Parker a spot on the Avengers, and Pepper made a brief cameo since she planned a press conference to announce the stunning addition. When Peter turned down the offer, Pepper was left scrambling in the face of all the reporters she assembled, and Tony asked Happy Hogan to toss him the engagement ring he’d been toting around for Pepper.
Clearly, it looks like Tony wound up getting down on one knee after all.
