Marvel Studios is currently in the midst of creating two of the biggest films they've ever attempted in their decade of existence. With Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled Avengers sequel, some of the biggest stars in Hollywood will unite in the fight against the Mad Titan known as Thanos.
But don't expect to see another team up anytime soon, if ever again, as the logistics behind such a massive film shoot might have scared off Kevin Feige and co. from attempting something similar in the future.
"I think that they’re in a position very openly and rawly where they’re like, 'We would never do this again. This is a one-time deal. To put this many successful actors together is such a pain in the ass, but it’s been worth it. We’re doing two movies. One back to back, and this is it for us. Then we’ll go off in another direction,'" said Brolin, "but this is a very, very, very obviously ambitious project that I think is going to pay off in a big way."
Brolin, who plays Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has no shortage of major co-stars in the movies. He'll be joined on screen by Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Benedict Cumberbatch, and many, many more.
With that large of a cast, it's hard to imagine a film successfully telling an emotional story, but Brolin said he was surprised when he got his first glimpse of the movie.
"It’s just a different type of acting, but then when I saw, they showed me a little six-minute teaser of a scene that I had done, and I was so blown away by how next level this digital process is and how real it feels," Brolin said. "I don’t know how I could be anything but happy. If everybody hates me at the end of it, I don’t know, will it be worth it if it’s a great movie? Maybe."
Thanos finally comes to earth when Avengers: Infinity War premieres in theaters on May 4, 2018.
