With books from Marvel or DC Comics, the decades of stories featuring characters can lead to some surprising reveals, while independent publishers can push boundaries in telling intimate stories in ambitious ways. To celebrate the accomplishments of the medium in all of its forms, comic fans took to Twitter to share the moments that had a major emotional impact on them using the hashtag #ComicThatMadeMeCry, leading to fans opening up about these moments and their personal impact.
