In addition to many other great roles, Paxton was a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He played Agent John Garrett, a mole for Hydra within SHIELD, in the first season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
While Paxton’s character turned out to be a villain on Agents of SHIELD, it seems that he was a hero on the show’s set. Several members of the Agents of SHIELD cast and crew have shared remembrances of Paxton on social media.
These include messages from Brett Dalton, who probably worked more closer with Paxton as Garrett’s protege, Grant Ward, than anyone else in the cast. There’s also messages from Ming-Na Wen, Elizabeth Henstridge, showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen, a musical tribute from Bear McReary and more.

At the time of his death, Paxton was appearing on the CBS series Training Day. He completed filming for the role prior to his untimely death.
