The world of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has been turned upside down ever since they entered the Framework, a virtual world where Hydra rules, Inhumans are hunted down, and SHIELD is just a small resistance group.

One of the most shocking turns has been Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker). In the world of the Framework, Fitz is known as “The Doctor” and he is the number two operative in Hydra’s hierarchy, just under his lover Ophelia, aka Madame Hydra, which is the Framework persona of rogue life model decoy AIDA.
The Doctor is a cruel being who tortures people without remorse. In last week’s episode, he shocked practically everyone when he murdered a woman in cold blood. Fitz’s friends and fans have been wondering what could have made Fitz so dark and different in the Framework, and last night’s episode, “No Regrets,” gave an answer to that question.

In the real world, Fitz was raised by his mother after his father, Alistair Fitz, left his family when Leo was just 10. When Fitz was placed in the Framework, AIDA rewrote his greatest regret. Apparently, his father leaving was Fitz’s greatest regret.
“No Regrets” introduced fans to Alistair Fitz (David O’Hara) for the first time. In the Framework, Alistair is an agent of Hydra. He also never left Leo, and raised him to be as cruel as he is, telling Leo that they can’t afford the “luxury of sympathy.”
Fitz’s father came up briefly in conversation in the real world earliest this season and Simmons tried to tell Fitz that he was better off without Alistair. It seems she may have been right, as his upbringing by his mother seems to have been integral to making Fitz the characters Simmons and fans love.
In next week’s episode, “All the Madame’s Men,” Daisy finds herself teamed up with an unlikely partner. Meanwhile, Aida prepares to put her ultimate end game into effect.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

In the aftermath of their journey to another planet, Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team were driven more than ever to put an end to the Hydra organization. Little did they know that they were up against the deadliest threat they’ve ever faced โ an extremely powerful Inhuman, Hive, who was transported back from Maveth in the body of their worst enemy, Grant Ward. The team was able to thwart and kill Hive and take down Hydra, but they are all still mourning the death of fellow agent and Inhuman, Lincoln Campbell.
