Spoilers for the Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD episode “No Regrets” follow.

While much of last night’s episode involved the Patriot, Grant Ward, and the rest of SHIELD searching for Daisy “Skye” Johnson, who was captured by Hydra in last week’s episode. However, from the very first scene of “No Regrets,” the Patriot made clear that he also had another agent in mind for rescue.

That rescue would come later when the Patriot and Coulson infiltrated a Hydra “enlightenment” camp. Inside the camp, the Patriot and Hydra found people kept in animal cages. The Patriot and Coulson freed them all, including Patriot’s missing agent, Antoine Triplet.

Interview: Brett Dalton On Ward’s Return, SkyeWard Hopes, And The Framework

Played by BJ Britt, Antione “Trip” Triplett was a member of Agent John Garrett’s team in the real world. Garrett also trained Agent Grant Ward but unlike Ward, Triplett had no idea Garrett was also a double agent of Hydra and remained loyal to SHIELD during Hydra’s attempted takeover.

Trip’s is also the grandson of a member of the Howling Commandos. This remains true in the Framework, where he uses his grandfather’s old spy camera to take photos of Hydra’s Project Looking Glass.

In the real world, Trip continued to work for Coulson’s SHIELD after it went underground in the second season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. However, Trip died when he was exposed to Terrigen inside the temple of the hidden Inhuman city that transformed Raina and Skye.

Just like with Grant Ward, the deceased Trip has been given a second chance to shine on Agents of SHIELD. Trip also survived the building collapse that came at the end of “No Regrets,” so it seems likely he’ll return for next week’s episode, “All The Madame’s Men.” In fact, he may be quite vital to the remaining members of The Framework’s SHIELD resistance, since he’s the only one with any knowledge of the Doctor’s “Project Looking Glass.”

In “All the Madame’s Men,” Daisy finds herself teamed up with an unlikely partner. Meanwhile, Aida prepares to put her ultimate end game into effect.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
