Marvel Studios hasn’t yet released an official theatrical poster for Avengers: Infinity War and, while certain fans are taking the task upon themselves, we think that Marvel Comics has already provided the film with the perfect poster template.

Marko Djurdjevic’s Infinity variant cover, which was repurposed as a movie-style promotional poster for the comic book event, is the perfect basis for the Avengers: Infinity War poster. Take a look at the piece below:
With the reveal of the Black Order on the D23 floor and the Outriders in the footage shown during the live-action movie panel, it has become apparent that Avengers: Infinity War is inspired at least as much by the 2013 Marvel Comics event Infinity as it is by 1991’s Marvel Comics event, The Infinity Gauntlet. Seeing as Marvel Studios already released a promotional poster at D23 that pays homage to a classic The Infinity War cover, following that up with an homage to Infinity makes perfect sense.
The Infinity cover poster includes certain Marvel Characters that are not expected to appear in Avengers: Infinity War. Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, and Thanos are all front and center and could easily be replaced with the Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Josh Brolin versions of each respective character.
The problem characters are Black Bolt (who will be played by Anson Mount in the Marvel’s Inhumans television series), Ex Nihilo, Nova, and Starbrand. They’re easy enough to replace. Black Panther seems to be filling Black Bolt’s role in the story for the movie so he could take Black Bolts’ place on the poster thus replacing one king with another. The way Ex Nihilo is floating in the air he could easily be the Vision. As for Starbrand and Nova, those are probably good spots to insert Iron Man and Spider-Man into the poster.
Are you listening, Marvel? The fans are waiting!
