Before Tim Miller eventually signed on to direct 20th Century Fox’s R-rated superhero film, professional conceptual artist Andrew Leung (Iron Man 3, Captain America: Civil War) was hired to create key-frame art for a Deadpool pitch.

“I worked on an early pitch of Deadpool before a director was decided upon,” Leung wrote. “It’s interesting to see what ended up carrying through and being used in the actual film.”
The key-frame art โ which is based on an early draft of the script Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Ryan Reynolds worked on โ includes the fight scene involving the SUV tumbling end-over-end on a highway, featuring the thug Deadpool assaulted with a cigarette lighter getting booted from the spinning vehicle; a bleeding Deadpool laying on his bed in his sparsely-furnished bedroom; Blind Al trying to assemble IKEA furniture while Deadpool channel-surfs with his tiny baby hand; and Wade Wilson meeting Vanessa for the first time at his favorite bar, Sister Margaret’s School for Wayward Girls.

Miller and Gina Carano, DEADPOOL is a giddy slice of awesomeness packed with more twists than my enemies’ intestines and more action than prom night. Amazeballs!
