While Sam Alexander is aware of Richard Rider’s return from the dead, many of Rider’s best friends and allies are not, and in issue #4 he goes about crossing a big name off that list when he runs into Gamora.

Gamora and Richard Rider have always had an affinity for each other over the years, despite Gamora often being on the other side of the law. A lot of life has happened since she last saw Rider, though, so it will be interesting to see how she reacts to her longtime love.

Nova is written by Jeff Loveness with art by Ramon K. Perez. David Marquez drew the issue’s cover. You can find the official description for the issue below, and ComicBook.com’s exclusive preview is in the gallery.

Sam Alexander is going on a date with the new girl in school, while Rich reconnects with an old flame from his past…the Guardian of the Galaxy called Gamora! But not everything is as it seems. It’s true, Richard Rider has come back to life…but he’s brought something back with him. Something dangerous. And whatever it is, it’s growing…

For years, he stood as one of Earth’s greatest heroes. He fought alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers, stopped the Annihilation Wave from eradicating all life in the galaxy, among other great deeds. In the end, he sacrificed his life to save everyone. But now, Richard Rider has returned from the brink, unsure of his place in a universe that has moved on without him. In his absence, a new Nova has stepped up to fill the void he left behind. Can Sam Alexander remind Rich what it means to be the Human Rocket? You better believe it! Sam just has to finish his homework first. Strap in True Believer, this is NOVA like you’ve never seen it before!

Nova #4 is in comic shops on March 8, 2017.
