Well, that’s exactly what HurleyFX managed to create in exquisite fashion. He shared a video of his Grootpool creation, which comes with the adorable smile fans are accustomed to with a Deadpool red and black color scheme. HurleyFX also equipped him with some of Deadpool’s trademark weapons, including a set of katanas and pistols.
If you’re interested in grabbing one, you can contact HurleyFX on social media, but in the meantime, you can see the completed Grootpool below.
Groot was the breakout star of the original Guardians and was the heart of the sequel. James Gunn acknowledges that was a conscious decision, formed after they got a handle on the character in the original.
“I think also, the whole personality of Groot and who he was, it was there on the page and then you forget about it while you were shooting the first movie,” Gunn continues. “But now everyone knows Groot so well that we have much larger awareness, me and the cast, of a baby Groot being there at all times. And him being one of the members in the scene…I think he’s a better-written character than the first Groot in some ways. Not that he was poorly written at all, but I think he’s just more complete character.”
Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 currently enjoys an 85.18 on ComicBook.com’s composite rankings, and is on video on demand now and hits Blu-ray/DVD on August 22nd. Deadpool 2 hits theaters on March 2nd, 2018.
