Marvel’s Inhumans TV series is full of insanely powerful characters, but few will be beloved more than the group’s adorable teleporting dog Lockjaw, and fans at Comic-Con got an up-close look at the lovable pup.

San Diego Comic-Con patrons were able to see the canine in person thanks to a giant plush replica. Lockjaw features his trademark tuning fork and a Black Bolt symbol hanging from his collar. If that wasn’t cute enough, a smaller but equally adorable Lockjaw camped out on the larger Lockjaw, making for a pair that will steal the hearts of many.

Showrunner Scott Buck believes it won’t take long for Lockjaw to worm his way into fan’s hearts on the show either, saying “Lockjaw is probably going to end up being the audience’s favorite character. We certainly enjoy working with him. He’s fun to write, he’s fun to shoot. There’s not too much more detail than that that I can give, but he is going to be a standout on the show.”
The first trailer debuted to decidedly mixed reviews, but Lockjaw tended to be a bright spot. The main issues seemed to be a lack of action and subpar special effects, but the latter can still be improved before the show bows later this year.
As for the lack of action, well, when the big climactic moment is literally a car being pushed down a street, there might be a problem. Hopefully, the show will be able to deliver much more in future trailers.
The first two episode of Marvel’s The Inhumans (directed by Roel Reine) will premiere in over 1,000 IMAX theaters across the globe โ for a two-week run โ starting on September 1, 2017. ABC will then premiere the series on Tuesday, September 26. Iron Fist’s Scott Buck is serving as showrunner.
The reported synopsis is listed below.
“After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.”
