When Agents of SHIELD returned from its midseason break, the superhero drama came back with a vengeance. Fans had bemoaned the fourth season’s slower pace following the exit of Ghost Rider, but the creative team behind the series made sure to address those problems head-on. The drama made a comeback with its ‘Agents of Hydra’ arc which put heroes like Daisy in an alternate world where Hydra ruled supreme. Thanks to its technological roots, the show has been able to bring back a series of departed characters, and fans are now wondering if one MIA agent will also be making his way back to the show.

It has been some time since Lance Hunter graced fans with his presence on Agents of SHIELD, but the actor behind the agent may have teased an impending return. Over on Instagram, Nick Blood shared an intriguing photo of himself with a former Agents of SHIELD co-star, Henry Simmons. The two snapped a photo together as they embraced on-set, and fans are wondering if the picture was a throwback or not. If the image is recent, the Blood may have just let it slip that he has a part in the show’s fourth season.
However, there are plenty of fans arguing that the image is nothing but a throwback. After all, the actor did upload the image on Thursday. Fans may want to believe the snarky British agent will come back in some form, but there has been no word about the return from Marvel Studios at this time. The show has already brought back another big agent in Grant Ward since Brett Dalton came back to reprise the character for season four.
For now, fans can only hope the character will make a heralded return after he and Bobbi Morse were disavowed from SHIELD in season three. There is no word yet on whether the show will get a fifth season โ but if it doesn’t – then bringing back Lance Hunter in Framework may give fans the goodbye they’ve been wanting.
