Marvel’s The Defenders is set to unite many of its small-screen crime-fighting heroes in the near future. But now, new set photos indicate that another character might be achieving vigilante status on Netflix’s corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Recent set photos for the sophomore season of Jessica Jones show Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) fending off muggers trying to attack Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville). What’s most noteworthy about the photos – aside from Trish getting a chance to save the day seemingly by herself – is her ensemble, which features both bright yellow and dark blue. Comic fans will quickly recognize those colors from the costume worn by Hellcat, Trish’s comic superhero persona.

For the uninitiated, Hellcat has acted as a member of the Defenders and the Avengers, with the help of her athletic capabilities and her psychic powers, which she developed after a literal trip in Hell. While it’s safe to assume that Jessica Jones‘ version of Trish won’t have to make that otherworldly trip, it’s not out of the question that she could come into her Hellcat persona over the course of season two.
After all, Trish developed her self-defense skills pretty well over the course of Jessica Jones‘ first season, later accompanying Jessica (Krysten Ritter) on several significant missions. It’s entirely plausible that Trish could emerge as her own sort of vigilante – complete with a street-clothes adaptation of her comic costume, much like Jessica – during the show’s second outing.
While fans eagerly anticipate Jessica Jones season two, they can look forward to a much sooner appearance from Taylor in next month’s The Defenders.
Marvel’s Defenders premieres August 18.
