With mounting anticipation in the wake of casting the lead roles for their latest TV show, Marvel Television has just announced additional cast members joining their production of Cloak and Dagger.
The six new actors round out many of the supporting roles for the new series about the pair of runaway teens (no, not those Runaways), joining Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph who will play the title characters.
Gloria Reuben and Miles Mussenden were announced as playing the parents of Tyrone Johnson AKA Cloak. Andrea Roth will portray the mother of Tandy Bowen AKA Dagger.
Carl Lundstedt will play Tandy’s boyfriend, described as “a salt-of-the-earth townie,” and James Saito will play Dr. Bernard Sanjo, “an emotional cornerstone in Tyrone’s life.”
True Detective actor J.D. Evermore rounds out the cast playing Detective Connors, likely to be the antagonist of the series.
“It’s been important to us from day one that Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is about character and emotion above all,” showrunner Joe Pokaski said in the announcement. “We’re so excited to have assembled a murderers’ row of talented actors who can execute on that, and then some.”
Stay tuned for more details and production announcements as the series begins to film for its debut on Freeform.
